These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Conviction Index.

1. The Service
Conviction Index is a public-opinion and debate platform.
Users may:
- Read debate summaries
- Cast Public Votes
- Purchase Conviction Points
- Post arguments where permitted
- React to arguments
- View public-opinion results
Conviction Index is not an election service, scientific polling organization, prediction market, gambling service, or financial investment platform.

2. Accounts
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate account information
- Maintaining the security of your account
- Activities conducted through your account
You may not create accounts for the purpose of manipulating debate results or circumventing platform restrictions.
3. Public Votes
Each eligible account may cast one Public Vote per debate unless a specific debate expressly permits periodic re-voting.
Public Votes are not available for purchase.
Conviction Index may use technical and account-based measures to detect duplicate, fraudulent, or manipulated voting.
We may remove or exclude activity that we reasonably believe violates platform rules.
4. Conviction Points
Conviction Points are digital features used to express the intensity of a user's opinion.
Conviction Points:
- Do not alter the Public Vote
- Have no cash value
- Cannot be redeemed for money
- Cannot be transferred between users
- Are not investments
- Are not wagers
- Do not provide ownership rights
- Do not entitle users to prizes or financial returns
Certain Conviction Point purchases may unlock platform features such as the ability to post an argument or receive temporary Spotlight visibility.
5. Payments
Paid features are one-time digital purchases unless otherwise clearly stated.
Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers such as Stripe.
You agree to provide valid payment information and authorize applicable charges.
6. User Content
Users may submit public arguments and other content.
You retain ownership of content you create, but you grant Conviction Index a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, distribute, and use that content as necessary to operate and promote the service.
You are responsible for the content you submit.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Harass, threaten, or target other users
- Post unlawful content
- Post knowingly false impersonations
- Publish private personal information about another person

8. Content Moderation
Conviction Index may remove, hide, restrict, or moderate content that violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations.
We do not guarantee that all user-generated content will be accurate, complete, or appropriate.
9. Editorial Content
Debate summaries, opposing arguments, and source materials may be created or assisted by artificial intelligence and reviewed by administrators.
We strive to present issues neutrally, but we do not guarantee that every debate will be free from error, omission, or bias.
Users should review original sources and form their own conclusions.
10. No Representative Polling Claim
Conviction Index results reflect users who choose to participate.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, results are not scientific surveys and should not be assumed to represent the population of any city, state, demographic group, or country.
11. Intellectual Property
The Conviction Index name, logo, site design, software, and original platform materials are owned by Conviction Index or its licensors.
You may not reproduce or commercially exploit these materials without permission.

14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Conviction Index will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
